What we collect
When you request a sample pack, we collect your newsletter or blog address, your email address and, if you give it, your first name. When you become a client, we also collect billing details (handled by our payment processor), the content you publish, and, on the Connected and Editor plans, a Buffer API key and the performance data Buffer reports for posts we schedule.
How we use it
- To build your sample pack and email you a link to it.
- To produce, schedule and report on your posts if you become a client.
- To contact you about your account and, occasionally, about Fanout Studio. You can opt out of non-essential email at any time.
- To improve the quality of our writing. Post performance from connected clients may be combined, without identifying you, to learn what works across clients.
Your content
Your articles and the posts we make from them belong to you. We use them only to deliver your service. We do not sell your content or your personal information.
Who we share it with
We use service providers to run the business, such as hosting, email delivery, payments, AI model providers used to draft posts, and Buffer for scheduling. They receive only what they need to perform their service.
Social media accounts
We never ask for your social media passwords. Scheduling happens through your own Buffer account, using an API key you can revoke at any time in Buffer's settings.
How long we keep it
We keep sample-pack requests for up to 12 months and client data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal and accounting purposes. Ask us and we'll delete your data sooner where the law allows.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing hello@fanoutstudio.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
Who we are
Fanout Studio is a business name of JBW Investments, Inc., a California corporation, which is responsible for the information described here.
