One real issue, and everything it became.

A 14-month owner's review of the Eight Sleep cooling cover. Every post and slide below came from that one article, shown exactly as delivered.

The issue

The Eight Sleep hub, a dark fabric-covered cylinder, standing beside a bed.

Eight Sleep Review: Maintain It, or You've Bought a $3,000 Mattress Cover

Jay Benjamin, August 2026

“Fourteen months later, the cooling is marginal. It has never once gotten me where I want to be on its own.”

Seven designed slides in the publication's own type and colors. The cover uses the article's photo; the rest are type only. Scroll to see all seven.

Slide 1 of 7: I sleep cold. My Eight Sleep never got there. Pictured: the bedside hub that cools Eight Sleep's mattress cover. The likeliest reason it underdelivered is embarrassing.
1 of 7
Slide 2 of 7: Meant to replace my sixty-four-degree bedroom AC. I sleep best cold, and a friend who bought one loved it. Fourteen months later, my bedroom AC still runs every night.
2 of 7
Slide 3 of 7: Eight Sleep mailed me a filter. I never installed it. It's a replaceable part for the hub, the bedside machine that runs the cooling. Mine arrived about six months in.
3 of 7
Slide 4 of 7: Eight Sleep advises two filter swaps yearly. I've done none. The one they've shipped me came free. My cooling faded over those same months, so the unfitted filter is my likeliest suspect.
4 of 7
Slide 5 of 7: Ask any Eight Sleep review how the bed was maintained. Much coverage came from free units, which rarely sit neglected a year. I'd wager a meaningful share of owners' beds do.
5 of 7
Slide 6 of 7: Unmaintained, an Eight Sleep is just a $3,000 mattress cover. Calendar the filter swap the day it arrives, twice a year. My app showed no reminder when I checked in August 2026.
6 of 7
Slide 7 of 7: Next: fit the filter, sleep on it a month. Then I'll say plainly whether the cooling came back. The full review lists every upkeep step and what I paid.

I should have been Eight Sleep's easiest sale. I sleep best cold, I keep my bedroom at sixty-four degrees, and a friend who bought one loved it. Fourteen months later, it has never gotten me cold enough on its own, and the air conditioning still runs every night. While writing my review, I found the likeliest reason: the hub filter the company mailed me, which they advise replacing twice a year, never got installed. That's on me. So I can't honestly tell you yet whether the cooling works. A new filter is on its way. Once it arrives, I'll fit it, drain and refill, sleep on it for a month, then report back. If you buy one, put the filter swap in your calendar the day the bed arrives. And when you read any review, ask how the bed was maintained. Link in bio. #eightsleep #sleep

You keep writing. We handle the week.

No briefs, no calls, no new tools to learn.

  1. Send your newsletter link

That's the whole setup for the free sample. When you sign up, we read your past issues and write down how you sound: how you open, how you hedge, what you'd never say.

  2. Each issue becomes a pack

When a new issue goes live, we write the posts, design the carousel and Stories around your photos, and check every line against the article.

  3. You approve. We post.

Approve, edit or send back any post in your private portal. Approved posts are scheduled into your own Buffer, and each month's results shape the next month's writing, with a growth report to show for it.

Illustration of the client portal. You keep your channels and logins; we never ask for a social media password.

Sounds like you. Says only what you said.

Generic AI posts are easy to spot and easy to scroll past. Here is what keeps these from reading that way.

  • Finished, not drafts

Written, designed and ready to schedule. No prompts to write, no templates to fill, no slides to lay out.

  • Your voice, on file

A written profile built from your past issues: sentence length, humor, how you make a point, the phrases you avoid. Drafts that drift get rewritten.

  • Nothing that isn't in your issue

Every sentence is checked against the article. Anything it doesn't support is cut or corrected. No invented numbers, no stretched claims.

  • Your photos, or none

Your article's own photos where they fit; some posts are text only on purpose. Never stock photos, never AI-generated images.

Three real corrections from the Eight Sleep pack

Fact-check: a detail the draft got wrong

Draft
I sleep best cold, and a friend raved about his.
The article says
“A friend of mine bought one, loved it, and told me so.”
Published
I sleep best cold, and a friend who bought one loved it.

Fact-check: the draft overstated the scope

Draft
Every one has shipped to me free.
The article says
“Roughly six months in, the company mailed me a complimentary maintenance insert for the hub.”
Published
The one they've shipped me came free.

Cold read: unclear to a new reader

Reviewer's note on an early slide
“I don't know what a ‘hub’ or ‘hub insert’ is, or what it does.”
Published slide
It's a replaceable part for the hub, the bedside machine that runs the cooling.
The published slide: Eight Sleep mailed me a filter. I never installed it. It's a replaceable part for the hub, the bedside machine that runs the cooling.

Questions

Anything else: hello@fanoutstudio.com

Who is this for?

Writers who publish a newsletter or blog on a regular schedule and know social media would grow it, but don't have the hours to turn every issue into posts. It works best when each issue has a real argument, story or finding in it.

Will it actually sound like me?

That's the job of the voice profile. We build it from your past issues before writing anything, and every draft is checked against it. The fastest way to judge is the free sample pack: it's built from your latest issue, so you can compare it with your own writing.

Is it written by AI?

Drafts are produced with AI models, then put through the checks described above: your voice profile, a line-by-line fact-check against the article, a critic pass on every post and a cold read of the visuals. Nothing is posted until you approve it.

Couldn't I just do this with ChatGPT?

You could write drafts that way. A pack is about a dozen and a half posts and designed slides per issue, checked against your article and scheduled across four platforms. That is the two or three hours a week most writers don't have.

What if a post gets something wrong?

Every claim is checked against your issue before you see it. If something still isn't right, edit it yourself or ask for a change and we'll rewrite it. Nothing posts without your approval.

Do you post for me?

Yes, through your own Buffer account. Once you approve a post, we schedule it. You keep your channels and logins and never share a password with us. Buffer's free plan covers three channels; all four platforms need its paid plan. Prefer to post yourself? Copy or download any approved post.

How many issues are included?

Up to five a month, which covers a weekly newsletter. Each extra issue is $50.

Is there a contract? What about refunds?

No contract. Plans are month to month and you can cancel anytime. If your first paid month isn't something you'd post, email us within 30 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full.

What does the sample pack cost?

Nothing. Send your newsletter or blog link and we'll turn your latest issue into a full pack and email you a private link within a day. No card, no call.

See your own issue as a week of posts.
